THORENS TD125 MKII with SME tone arm and SHURE V15 TYPE11 CARTRIDGE AND STYLUS in SME 2000 plinth with dustcover.
Fully working and currently in use in my record shop.
Allin excellent condition showing little signs of use. The SME plinth is a little faded on the front panel but scratch free and dent free. The perspex cover is also in excellent condition, the sprung hinges working perfectly.
"The beautifully styled TD-125 carried the Thorens banner through the seventies, and is widely regarded as Germany’s finest domestic turntables from the Golden Age. This example is well-equipped, with perhaps the most classic combination: SME 3009 with Shure V15."
"Thorens did improve on the TD 150 with the TD 125 in a number of other areas, not least thanks to greater mass and more robust construction. Isolation of the various elements was superior, while the switching of power on/off and speed changes were achieved electronically rather than mechanically as on the earlier models. The two-section platter consisted of the 12in section fitted over the smaller subplatter around which the belt was positioned. The mat was a sculpted rubber affair that, in the post-Linn era, most users replaced with something offering better contact between LP and platter, such as simple felt."
